Christopher Floyd
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God. Husband, father, and outspoken always.
Due paying member in good standing of the Digital Exile literary movement. (Really more of a slight twitch than a movement.)
I write fiction, flash fiction, shorts, and the occasional poem. I also have several books in different stages of disarray.
I am using Hubpages primarily to network with other writers. I have posted a few stories, and generally added to the clutter that is the Internet. I hope you enjoy them. Like all writers, I develop through feedback. Please feel free to comment, and bluntly.
Other than writing, I watch boxing every chance I get, read a lot of those persistant little holdouts against the internet age known as books, and try not to care too much about my part-time job.
I also blog and post fiction at:

Publications and awards:
The essay "Apocalypse," which appears on this page, won first place for fiction in the Eastern Oklahoma Writing Contest. It is autobiographical.
The poem, "Moving On," was published in the Spring 2010 "farewell" issue of Poesia Magazine. This makes me feel good.
The flash fiction piece "Brewer's Fan" was published March 15th, 2010 by Everydayfiction.com. It can be read here:

My hub "A Well-Intentioned Effort" was nominated for hubnugget status, making me a wannabee and a starving artist. This is very cool.
"Insight," another flash piece, has been accepted by Everyday Fiction and was featured Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010.

"A Notional Ekphrasis", a poem I wrote when very distraught with another poet's dependency on a given word, has been published by Amphibi.us and can be read (with discretion) here:

I am currently writing for market and trying to get as many by-lines as possible. It ain't easy. I have a lot of old academic stuff on here. I'm working to increase the amount of fiction I have posted, but at present am having a lot of luck with the stories I submit.
